When you right-click on a folder in Ubuntu Linux you are given an option to Create Document. Initially no templates are installed. To install a template simply create blank document in the ~/Templates directory and it will appear in the right-click menu.
Slow Browsing in Ubuntu Firefox due to IPv6
The default install of Firefox on Ubuntu tries to use IPv6. Although IPv6 works fine on Ubuntu, there are problems with Firefox and IPv6 and browsing can be annoyingly slow (for example, several second delay when performing DNS lookup).
Postfix
Postfix is a mail daemon for sending email (an alternative to sendmail).
Ubuntu
Linux distribution which is relatively easy to install and use. I have tried Ubuntu and it does provide a user friendly Linux distro, detecting hardware automatically so that things like sound and networking work straight away.
TOT
TOT is one of the government owned telcos (the other one being CAT) in Thailand. They provide ADSL to dorm rooms at the Thammasat University Rangsit Campus.

One of the oldest universities in Thailand, which gained a good reputation through its social sciences. Now a multi-disciplinary university, with campuses in the CBD and in Pathumthani (Rangsit).

A comprehensive and fast software mirror in Thailand. Contains most the Linux distrubtions (Fedora, Ubuntu), CTAN, CPAN, PHP, Apache and so on.
NECTEC FTP Mirror
NECTEC is a good Thai mirror containing several Linux distributions, as well as Thai specific software (for example, Thai Open Office).

ADSL in Bangkok
Submitted by Steve on Mon, 23/10/2006 - 8:43pmOne thing I got used to in Australia was having quite a reliable ADSL Internet connection (512kb/s download, 128kb/s upload, 8GB monthly limit through Internode for $AU40 per month). Before arriving, getting a similar service in Bangkok was a concern.
